Established 2015 & Penned by Brooklyn.
Be not afraid of growing slowly be afraid only of standing still.
Shiryu’s cheeks are suddenly kissed by an shade of scarlet like an deadly rose, the blooming color so beautiful against his pure skin. He looks away and finds a distraction at the floor while they are dragging this moment out as long as possible. Albafica remained silent, allowing him time to compose himself, fighting back the smile that wants to break out. What would happen next? He’s going to want to remember it for a long time, so while his gaze is soft he doesn’t drop his eyes for a moment.
“Odd? There is nothing odd about this, Shiryu. Now, lift your head again or you will miss what we want to watch together.”
The young saint could draw him to fire, he could draw him to water, he could draw him to the gallows, he could draw him to any death, he could draw him to anything he had most avoided, he could draw him to any exposure and disgrace. This and he wouldn’t mind at all. Their hands had no space inbetween, while his heart was racing and aching at the same time. This was happiness but also pain. Here and now this was real but the future would only bring pain.
Soon the saints had set their feet into the chambers of the Pisces Temples. Dark and cold it was without the lights, without them in there. It was silent, not a single noise to be heard, only their quiet footsteps as he walked further into the quite big halls. It was noticeable how rare the Pisces Saint had wandered through this halls when his home was his decent place inbetween those deadly roses of his garden.
His grip on Shiryu’s hand tightened but remained gentle. Blame it on his pride that he turned his head away. It was difficult to admit that he still didn’t know where to find what they needed. Especially not being able to admit in front of the young Dragon Saint who had always been honest and understanding with him, it was painful and embarrassing. Just what was he going to do?
“… I…” he stopped and sighed softly. Was it really that difficult? “Ah… the light… I forgot to turn on the light…”

Where his comrades would have SNICKERED & POKED FUN at his dumbfounded disposition, Albafica sought to comfort the dragon & coax him out of the hole he wished to HIDE within. His somewhat crippling embarrassing soon began to subside; his head lifting up once again to look upon the FEATHER-LIGHT features of the saint that ensnared his heart. No judgment was to come from Albafica, not on this matter & he knew that. There was no reason to BOW HIS HEAD this way.
Shiryu allowed his head to rise somewhat; looking at the other through what his bangs would allow him. So many words he WISHED he could say without TARNISHING what they have right now. So many emotions he wanted to EXPRESS without the fear of having the other RETRACT & RECOIL himself to the safety of his corner. So many impulses he couldn’t help but want to ACT upon but knew better than to do so. What they had was special & it was founded within the confines of their MUTUAL COMFORTS. To break that; to break the TRUST Albafica had instilled within him all to act upon impulse, no, Shiryu would not do that. Not to him.
But he wanted to. Oh GODS he wanted to! To hold his face & caress his cheek with the pad of his thumb. To placed their foreheads TOGETHER & gaze into the sea of AZURE before him for the rest of the evening. To close their distance EVEN MORE with just the gesture of one simple K I S S & show just how much his heart threatened to explode due to all of this. All of this Shiryu wanted to do; wanted to act upon while he was here for the chance was threatening to PASS HIM BY. But, no. He could not. If this was all they were destined to have–then he would CHERISH this as though it was the most precious thing in the world to him, for it was. It truly was.
Ever so quietly he followed inside. His vision soon became OBSTRUCTED by the lack of light within the temple but their hands stayed together even through this. At the first sound of his voice, Shiryu turned his head to where HE KNEW Albafica stood. Such hesitance echoed in his voice; he thought it was MELODIC in its own right. There was a squeeze of his hand.
❛ It’s alright. We shall find it together, hm? That way, neither one of us will get LOST the darkness. Just keep HOLDING MY HAND Alba-kun. We’ll find it TOGETHER. ❜
