Be not afraid of growing slowly be afraid only of standing still.
It was only for a brief moment but he clearly felt the gentle squeeze. It was short but it was filled with so many emotions. Could it last only one moment longer? Giving him the safety of this being real? He wished for it so much… If he could just take his hand once again and squeeze it in return. It was alright. There was nothing wrong with such small gesture which meant more than anyone would ever be able to understand.
Albafica would have never changed a thing…
Please don’t let go...
Touch. It was still a gesture he considered uncomfortable. He kept the distance to people but it was different for Shiryu. He felt safe, he never thought one second of hurting him, there was trust in the young saint and himself, no one would get hurt. And it made him want to receive more of those little gestures, slowly. The distance they kept, which kept him safe in the beginning began to feel painful. Wasn’t he far away? Wasn’t he too far away to reach for him? Just for one second? He did not want this distance any longer…
The Pisces Saint turned his head slowly, gazing up to the sky that slowly lost the last shades of violet and red. A small light, a star had caught his attention. It was shining bright even thought the night was still on it’s way. And with that he knew, that his wish would come true, even if it was just for a brief moment. His only wish was Shiryu’s happiness.
“My wish? You do not have to feel this way. My wish will come true, I am certain. But now, let us go inside. It will take some time to fetch everything.”
He wanted to reach out for his hand. His hand slowly moved closer but it stopped once it was almost close enough. Albafica felt as if he was the one pushing something onto Shiryu. He wanted to see if he was fine with this, if this was alright for him to do so.
“Do you mind if I take your hand?”

❛ WIll it now? I do HOPE so. That will put my heart at ease. ❜
It was true. What good would HIS WISH be if Albafica’s wish went unnoticed? HIS EVERLASTING HAPPINESS was all Shiryu wanted. Would that be too much to wish for? Too much to give to a man who keeps to himself by choice? Even the LONELY deserved to be happy & if this was all he could give him before his time was up here, then Shiryu would do WHATEVER he had to in order to grace Albafica with that. A heart like that should never be alone anymore. A face like his should never carry upon it LONELINESS & TORMENT anymore. If he could help it, then so he shall.
Before Shiryu could pick up his feet to walk himself back into the temple alongside Albafica, his question stopped his movements. SHOCK riddled his face but not for the reason one would think. He did not wear shock because he felt his space INVADED. No. He wore shock because his THOUGHTS & WANTS were echoed by such a celestial voice. Be still the heart! Could he heard those l i n g e r i n g thoughts within the depths of his own soul? Were they really NOT THAT DIFFERENT after all?
Shiryu spoke no more. WORDS WERE NOT NEEDED HERE ANYMORE. Instead, his looks softened towards Albafica. He needn’t not ask for such things (things like this he’d give oh so willingly). Shiryu looked down to his hand. With a gentle touch he took it up & not only did he take the elder’s hand, but he allowed their fingers to LACE with eachother. PALM TO PALM their hands were & INTERTWINED were their fingers together.
If there was anything he could give him It was this. It will ALWAYS be this.
With their fingers together now, Shiryu began to walk once more. The GRIP his hand held with Albafica, although soft, was secure. He was not going to let the other go until the situation called for it. Until then, their hands were to remain in eachother’s COMPANY. It was NEVER too much to ask for; he would always readily offer his hand.
